Yi Bingshou (1754-1815), also known by his zi (courtesy names) Zusi and Moqing, and his hao (literary name) Mo'an, was a native of Ninghua County, Tingzhou, Fujian province. He is often referred to as Yi Tingzhou in reference to his home prefecture. He attained the jinshi (a successful candidate in the imperial examination) degree during the Qianlong reign (1736-1796) and served as the Prefect of Huizhou and Yangzhou. An expert in painting, seal carving, poetry and prose, Yi Bingshou is most celebrated for his clerical script calligraphy. He is the author of Collected Works from the Liuchun Caotang Studio(Liuchun caotang).
