Tan Yuanchun (1586-1637), Letter in Running Script, album leaf

Tan Yuanchun (1586-1637), also known by his zi (courtesy name) Youxia, was a native of Jingling (in present-day Tianmen, Hubei province). During the Tianqi reign (1621-1627), he ranked first in the provincial examination. He was a co-founder of the influential Jingling School of literature.
